If you’re looking for a healthy meal, there is a lot to choose from at this very contemporary restaurant. Not only was the décor very contemporary, so were the clientele and the staff. The restaurant was clean and everything was prepared very well. While the food was very good, it was expensive.
The first drink I ordered was a vodka infused espresso. At the recommendation of the bartender, I opted for less sweet which was a good choice. Without the extra syrup, the drink was still syrupy sweet, but only slightly. Mixing the drink was necessary as each of the ingredients were separated in the glass, similar to some of the fancy coffee shop drinks you can order. Once it was mixed, the drink was very good and tasted like any other high end coffee shop concoction.
The second drink I ordered was called a Classic Lemonade, basically vodka and lemonade mixed together. Normally, this would be a good combination, but the citrus taste was overwhelming, it was a little better once mixed although it was still very potent.
Looking over the menu, it took a little imagination to figure out which strange combination of ingredients would yield the best meal. I took a chance on the Kombucha Chicken and was not disappointed. The chicken breast came smothered in the Kombucha sauce on top of a bed of corn mash. I was not able to figure out what was in the casserole, or hot dish if you’re from Minnesota. Both were good by themselves, but they were even better together, a very good meal.
There were several sides available. I chose the sweet potato side. It was very straightforward, a dish of cubed sweet potato pieces. If you really like sweet potatoes, you will like this side dish. If you do not like sweet potatoes or are indifferent to them, pick a different dish. Fortunately, I enjoyed the dish.
Overall, the restaurant was a good experience, with friendly staff and good food. I was certainly out of place with the atmosphere and clientele, but still enjoyed a good meal.
